Baby Dies During Homeland Security Detention

There was a problem with the passport of the mother, who was flying from American Samoa to Hawaii to get heart surgery for her baby. This, even though her papers were clearly stamped "approved." Furthermore, the baby's nurse and the baby were also detained, even though both were naturalized citizens with U.S. passports. All three were detained in a hot room. As the baby's condition worsened, the mother and nurse began pounding on the locked door, screaming for help and for someone to call 911. They were told to calm down.
