These three girls could be for McCain and I think I would still be in love - but these three precious kids singing "Barack and Roll" - too damn cute. Let's hear it for those of us who grew up in a trio of sisters!

Obama does have the younger crowd behind him - and I mean those way too young to even vote. We live in a little conservative Southern town now, and I am actually afraid to put a bumper sticker on my car, but my daughter insisted on getting an Obama button to put on her backpack for school (they went back last Friday).
This one may be a little much with the images of everyone from Dr. King to Gandhi to Mother Teresa to Nelson Mandela, but even so, it puts Obama in historical context as heir to the movements for civil rights that have come before. Also, the Obama photos here are just plain fun:
Obama, of course, is of mixed racial heritage (who isn't?). This video points out that Obama's father's family was from Ireland (Donegal, in Ulster - Northern Ireland, still controlled by the British; my family was from Ulster too - Clady, District of Strabane, County Tyrone). I did not know about Obama's Irish ancestry, but were I not already a supporter, that would clinch it. This video claims "There is No One as Irish as Barack O'bama" and it's very fun:

But as moveon.org reminds us, be afraid of the hopemonger, because it might be contagious:

Apologies in advance for the pedantry. Donegal is part of Ulster but politically is one of the 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland. The people there call it the "Forgotten County." Premium T. and I spent a couple of days there earlier this summer. My blog entries with pictures are here:

Hey, thanks so much for the scoop. When I wrote the post, I looked it up on Wikipedia - there's a distinction between the town of Donegal and the county. But it sounds like I got it wrong. Thanks SO much for the great info.
I've been working like mad on a long blog entry tonight (one I'M really nervous about actually), and I have a very full day tomorrow. I'll check in tomorrow evening though - sorry it can't be sooner. I'm not blowing you off!
